Everything took an age to come to the table, when it did eventually come there was hair in the salad! I bought it up to the waitress who said "oh that shouldn't be there" then charged us the full £32 (two sandwhiches, a coffee and a milkshake) and walked off without even offering to remake the salad at the very least, so say it is disappointing is a let down

A friendly place to stop when it was pouring with rain and blowing us off our feet. Several other cafes in above turned us away with the dog but Brookside welcomed us with open arms. Super friendly staff with warm smiles that made us feel very welcome. Food was hot, well cooked, served quickly and was plentiful - it also tasted superb. The breakfast wasn’t greasy and the toast was hot! My wife had corned beef hash and eggs and said she felt 8 years old again, old school comfort food.

Dropped in at 11:30 on a Sunday on the off-chance that they could fit us in for a coffee and cake - most of the cafes were closed and it was raining. They put us on a table that was reserved for lunch at 12:30 which was perfect. We both had a large coffee and a caramel shortbread which was very nice - I had started eating it before remembering to take a picture. Staff were very nice. They were fully booked for lunch which is always a good recommendation. The menu from breakfast through to dinner looked good. Based upon our limited experience we would recommend this place.

We are stopping on a near by campsite. The Brookside is a lovely calm place to stop in for a snack or a full meal. It is also nice that they do an all day English breakfast. The staff are so polite and accommodating. The lattes are huge and in my opinion how they should be. Everything was served hot on hot plates and was delicious.

Back again on our way home after our holiday in Dartmoor. Waitresses are so friendly & the garden is so pretty. Would definitely recommend. My husband had full English & my scrambled egg on toast was cooked just as I'd asked. Thank you for great service!
